What is Windows PC Defender?

Windows PC Defender sounds very similar to a real security client. They are trying to confuse people and trick them into thinking the program is the real Windows Defender software. Windows PC Defender Removal

Here are the steps we used to remove Windows PC Defender from a test computer. Please note that traces will change and mutate. Most of the time it will be similar in nature so the average computer user should be able to figure out what changed. If you are in doubt then just run a full scan with Spyware doctor with Antivirus to see the latest traces of this.

The first thing you need to do is to stop the active running traces of Windows PC Defender. Open up the Task Manager (ctrl+alt+del ) and end the following processes.

Keep in mind that your running strain may be different. If you do not have this exact process above then you should be able to make an educated guess and find the correct one. If not then we already stated to run a scan to find the traces so it’s a mute point.

Now you will need to delete the Windows PC Defender trace files and folders.

Now you will need to run a scan using Spyware Doctor with Antivirus » download. While the free trial does not remove threats it will detect any left over traces of Windows PC Defender. You can use another security program if you like. The most important thing is that you run a scan to determine if any other infections are still present on your computer. Most people will have a different trojan or two as well that they need to remove. Often times these can just be removed manually once you know the location.
